Darrell Mauldin is a petroleum geologist specializing in stratigraphic and structural analysis of potential petroleum reservoirs on the Eastern Shelf of the Midland Basin. He has almost thirty years in the petroleum business. Darrell is a Certified Petroleum Geologist (#6347) and is licensed through the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (#5308).
He is proficient with Petra software and leads the Abilene Petra Users Group.
He has given several oral presentations and published several papers about the Pennsylvanian and Permian deposits of Texas and Oklahoma.
Active in the petroleum geological organizations, Darrell has served numerous positions, including President of the Abilene Geological Society (AGS) and the Southwest Section American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG). He has also received the Distinguished Service Award for both organizations.
His expertise is in both exploration and development geology.
Through his geological libraries, Darrell has access to well data and logs that cover much of central, west and north Texas; this includes the entire Eastern Shelf. In his Petra database, he has thousands of log rasters as well as thousands of formation tops. He also has well and completion data for numerous counties.
Darrell is involved in his community, serving on the boards of a men’s halfway house and a prison ministry. He is an elder at his church and co-leads an outreach church that ministers and feeds the poor and homeless.
